| Ladies and gentlemen,
Now introducing: Combat flaps. This is a .cfml file with which you replace the current air.cfml file located in your battleground europe folder. It will change some of you default key settings but you can change them back. However it sets "q" and "w" as the key settings for flaps which allow one to set the flaps to a up, 25% 50%, 75% and down setting. This in turn allows one to slow down on approach to EA and not over shoot, and also allows one to turn-fight with spitfires. I will try to upload the file today but if I cant figure out how then tomorrow. See y'all. -Lockheed71 | |

| However, here is the plain text from notepad. You can simply cut this code and paste it into the current air.cfml file, replacing the original text, then save the file. the effect is the same.
<?xml version='1.0'?> <!DOCTYPE controlset SYSTEM "cfml.dtd"> <controlset version="1.1.0" language="english" keyboard="us"> <control function="Engine Start/Stop"> <joybutton stick="1" index="1">8</joybutton> </control> <control function="Autopilot"> <key>a</key> </control> <control function="Use secondary weapon"> <joybutton stick="1">1</joybutton> </control> <control function="Jettison Ordnance"> <key>j</key> </control> <control function="Yaw"> <joyaxis stick="2">rz</joyaxis> </control> <control function="Flap control"> <keydelta value="25.00" per="keypress"> <key>q</key> </keydelta> <keydelta value="-25.00" per="keypress" index="1"> <key>w</key> </keydelta> <keyabsolute value="0.00"> <key></key> </keyabsolute> <keyabsolute value="0.00" index="10"> <key></key> </keyabsolute> </control> <control function="Left brake"> <joyaxis stick="2">x</joyaxis> </control> <control function="Right brake"> <joyaxis stick="2">y</joyaxis> </control> <control function="Adjust prop up"> <joybutton stick="1" index="1">27</joybutton> </control> <control function="Adjust prop down"> <joybutton stick="1" index="1">25</joybutton> </control> </controlset>

| Yep, went from 0 aerial kills average per mission to 2. turn fighting with spit, while still not advised, is also MUCH easier. | |

| I remember the original version of the keymapper allowed you to set up this sort of thing. | |

| for those who can't find the file... it is located in your hard drive under: Documents/Battleground europe/cfml/air.cfml. that is to say: in your documents folder there is a folder called Battleground europe. in that folder is one labeled cfml. In THATfolder is a file called air.cfml. delete the original contents of that file and then cut and paste the text above into it and save. this should allow you all combat flaps. If this doesn't work then just put your email address here in this thread and I will forward the bloody thing to you. Happy Hunting! -Lockheed71 | |

| If you know the dimensions (length, width, and/or height) of your target, you can do the math in your head to compute the range. Unfortunately, the vehicle dimensions are no longer posted on the game website. | |

| By doing a small mod to the file content, you can have what ever % change for each press of the flap keys
I have bold texted the number i changed, works realy well. You can fine tune the lift of the wing DURING a turn, and then go back to 0% flaps when coming out of the turn.
<?xml version='1.0'?> <!DOCTYPE controlset SYSTEM "cfml.dtd"> <controlset version="1.1.0" language="english" keyboard="us"> <control function="Engine Start/Stop"> <joybutton stick="1" index="1">8</joybutton> </control> <control function="Autopilot"> <key>a</key> </control> <control function="Use secondary weapon"> <joybutton stick="1">1</joybutton> </control> <control function="Jettison Ordnance"> <key>j</key> </control> <control function="Yaw"> <joyaxis stick="2">rz</joyaxis> </control> <control function="Flap control"> <keydelta value="25.00" per="keypress"> <key>q</key> </keydelta> <keydelta value="-25.00" per="keypress" index="1"> <key>w</key> </keydelta> <keyabsolute value="0.00"> <key></key> </keyabsolute> <keyabsolute value="0.00" index="10"> <key></key> </keyabsolute> </control> <control function="Left brake"> <joyaxis stick="2">x</joyaxis> </control> <control function="Right brake"> <joyaxis stick="2">y</joyaxis> </control> <control function="Adjust prop up"> <joybutton stick="1" index="1">27</joybutton> </control> <control function="Adjust prop down"> <joybutton stick="1" index="1">25</joybutton> </control> </controlset>
Note you CAN NOT paste in my modified text above, due to formating. Just look up your file and replace the "25" with what ever % you like to use for each button press.,
