Nope he left on his own after being confronted about side switching, which he knew was against the rules.

He has a post in the WW II forums saying he was harassed by us and sworn at. Is his version posted in the forums true?

His quote:

"As some of you already know, I recently decided to return the game on a full sub and got involved with the whole thing again as i missed the game with their being nothing at all similar on the gaming market today.

Having spent most of my time in-game as Axis i decided to give Allied a try (i figured what the heck, it's only a game who cares what side you're on if you're having fun!) and i have to admit i really enjoyed it however my hunger for old axis squadmates in FF and my beloved K98 rifle grew stronger day by day and after about a month i decided i wanted to go back to Axis... Then all hell broke loose...

The day i switched (yesterday) i joined a really nice guy from FF on his daily RDP raids, we had some really good laughs both formation flying and multicrewing HE-111's with another member joining us later in the day! I was really kindly invited back to FF and was happy to be where i was...

The next day i woke up, said the usual "S!" in squad chat and someone happened to ask if playing allied was allowed in the squad due to seeing me as allied in battle, we all replied no and we got chatting about the recent events at Temse (i was allied at the time) with the 2/3 day attacks which eventually resulted in axis victory over the town, a very good fight.

Out of the blew, i suddenly got a couple of messages ingame telling me to "piss off back to allies" and "**** off & stop sideswitching" ... The squad then seemingly turned on me aswell saying similar hurtful things despite me trying to reason with the entire side chat that i had just returned, i went allied and decided to come back home to axis... My efforts were invein and i left Axis as i see very little point in being on a side when being on TS would likely result in alot of hatred being thrown at me just because i played a different side on a computer game.

When does the sanity end? WW2OL is a pc game, not a real war scenario where you're supposed to hate the enemy as a means to stay alive!

I'm now left wondering what the heck i should do, i could go back to the allies however i'd feel like they wouldn't want me because of me coming back only through force and i certainly can't play Axis anymore because there's clearly something wrong with them (towards me anyway)... Do i unsubscribe? I don't want to as i enjoy supporting the game but i really don't know.

I know for certain though that if this happened to a new player or another returning player, they aren't going to want to stick around so long and with so many people raising so many concerns over low population etc, i would of thought that the community would be as welcoming and helpful as possible to try and increase support for the game.

The reason for this lengthy post is just to say i'm really dissapointed tbh, i really didn't think people could be this ridiculously rude over who plays which side in an imaginary war on the internetz.

I know that there'll be alot of **** talk below and no doubt more hate towards me and them trying to make reason for their hurtful remarks in side chat but I wanted to share my sad experience in hope that if this happens to any other playes, they perhaps won't feel victimised and can make a similiar post to try and improve the community and in-turn, the game.

It wasn't the FF squad i remembered so happily, it certainly wasn't the general axis personality i remembered... It was just dissapointing to see such a bitter community in an online game. Don't get me wrong, i can take a good laugh and I can be abit over excited and a little foul mouthed occasionally, but when I do it I make sure people know i'm only messing around... This was just intended to be mean and it's bang out of order, those involved should be ashamed.

I am officially a sad panda, courtesy of axis... Ruined my day royally after looking forward to logging on in FF and seeing if anyone fancied an RDP raid"

I just have to say it:

Side switching in FF is perfectly fine, providing you leave the squad before doing so. No one with an FF Tag should be playing Allied.

Once that MEMBER returns, they MUST BE WELCOMED WITH OPEN ARMS AND LOVE AND RESPECT.

Seriously guys, IT IS A GAME!

We are here to have FUN. So!!! Let's go OUT OF WAY to make it FUN for everyone!

Now, whoever started the flaming of Padawan should grow a set and own up to it and apologize to Padawan and invite him back with all the respect and friendliness you can muster.

Read and Understood I hope?

There was an incident in squad chat with him last night, and things were not handled as they should have been. Padawan was someone I remember well, and enjoyed playing with, but awhile back he announced he was returning to the allies and left the squad. I'd seen him here and there in game on the Axis side from time to time, and only managed to have a chat with him and brought him back into the squad at the time of this original post. Unfortunately, ever since then he has been a side switcher according to his stats record. Other members had seen him on, and informed me of the matter after he'd logged in, in squad chat. In the future, please inform an officer of such matters via pm, and let us deal with the matter. Having folks lighting into someone is not going to end well, and padawan always handles confrontations directly and aggressively. Hence his public fibbing on certain matters, and omissions of truth from his posting. He did not care about the squad rules, and felt he could flout them again, this was not the first time. He had a second chance and screwed it up. Shortly after this incident, I went to bed. An unfortunate ending, but now I won't miss him.

Whether or not he was side switching while in the squad, one should have simply left it at stating out squad rules on the issue and, if he refused, politely ask if he would leave the squad. I didn't hear anything about him being flamed by our members in teamspeak, but if thats the case then those individuals should have realized that, that in and of itself is disrespectful and improper and should apologize. However, in light of the fact of his side switching while in the squad and his omissions from his forums post is reason enough to disregard him entirely.

Yes, side switching while wearing an FF tag is not allowed.
If anyone plays allied while wearing an FF tag, they should be removed from the squad.
If you cannot do it inform and officer and they can check the publicly available stats to confirm and then remove the offender.
It is unfortunate that Padawan neglected to mention the fact that he switched sides while wear the FF tag.
If it was me I would have warned him ONE time and then booted him.

NO, you may NOT play allied EVER while wearing the FF tag. Totally unacceptable.
Intermissions are different thing. But I would think mini-campaigns would not be an exception. How feel you all about that?

This matter is closed. There are two sides to every story and I now know the true version.
